We need to be careful with this, because it's technically an 'appeal to authority' fallacy - which is the same fallacy that religious people make when referring to their preferred prophet or "sacred" text.
I think that's ultimately why arguments with "Trumpers" oftentimes fall flat. Unless we do the hard work of delving into why our "expert" is more trustworthy than their "expert", these conversations won't get anywhere.
If you and the person you were talking to both agree on which experts to trust, great. But if not, and you refuse to go down the rabbit hole of discussing which experts might be trustworthy and why, then you're simply being disrespectful and, in fact, illogical.
It's hard work, but if you don't do it, then it means you don't take the work — or whatever problem / subject matter you’re discussing — seriously.
