Totally agree. Although it may have been originally intended as a way to protect minority groups, in fact it is often used to the opposite effect, and as a way to skirt around laws meant to protect everyone.

I think most people argue for what they want to believe, rather than for what best describes reality. And I think that is very detrimental to us getting along.
