The only way this works, though, is if you don't wait for EVERY white person to comply. There are a lot of white people who already exist, who will bend over backwards not to call a black person black.

If we want anything to change, we need leaders, not followers in this regard.

Also, there is a difference between calling someone black or white to distinguish them, vs calling them black or white to imply something about how they are, or how you feel about them.

Often, these days, when black people say "white" person, it's in order to disregard or diminish their opinion or accomplishments. This usage is bad, whether its calling a white person white, or a black person black.

Whereas if there is a group of people, and one is black, one is asian, one is white, and you don't know their names, then referring to the white one as "the white one" will not be offensive, because it's just a way to distinguish them from the others, and doesn't actually imply anything about them.

I think most people argue for what they want to believe, rather than for what best describes reality. And I think that is very detrimental to us getting along.
