The idea that a static revelation leads to irrelevance is insightful. But I think it's the same insight that many people have with respect to Christianity itself.

Many of Christianity's defining claims (like that Jesus' mother was a virgin, or that he was resurrected from the dead) are not open to dynamic revelation - which makes it hard to see how they are relevant claims for a forward-thinking society.

I think most people argue for what they want to believe, rather than for what best describes reality. And I think that is very detrimental to us getting along.
