Rational thinking is only bad when it's done incorrectly.
Ultimately, rational thinking is thinking. Even your article here is an attempt to rationalize not being rational.
The problem is, sometimes people think being rational is an end in itself, but it's not. The end goal must always be to have good feelings and experiences. Rational thinking is our way to achieve that goal, but it's not the goal in itself.
But saying that rationality itself is bad is also bad. Rationality is our most important tool in figuring out the practical details of how to make ourselves and our communities happy.
Here’s how it works: your emotions / feelings / perceptions inform your thoughts (i.e. your rationality), and your thoughts help you navigate the world, in order to have better emotions / feelings / perceptions going forward.
Rationality is not the beginning or the end, but it is the entire middle of this process.
