No, thought experiments are good, as are "asking questions". The "bad" only comes in when incorrect logic and conclusions are reached - in which case, the correct response is to explain how their logic is flawed - not to claim that the question or "thought experiment" should not have been asked in the first place. Rather than calling them "intellectual bullshit", the useful response is to instead think of and use questions and thought experiments as OPPORTUNITIES to explain your own conclusions.
