Just because we can excuse or explain horrid behavior does not mean we have to accept it.

The fact of the matter is, we do not have a free will, and our thoughts are not our own. So any judgments we make of people are purely egotistical - representing what we want to believe about a person, but not the actual truth.

We need to move away from judging people altogether, and instead, limit ourselves to just judging ideas.

I wrote about this more in this comment: https://nebulasaurus.medium.com/the-correct-answer-is-that-we-should-not-judge-people-at-all-a9c2e5232d8c?source=responses-----e34abc8ff5bb----8----------------------------

I think most people argue for what they want to believe, rather than for what best describes reality. And I think that is very detrimental to us getting along.
