In your title, did you perhaps mean 'tribalism' or 'sectarianism' instead of 'secularism'? The word 'secularism' refers to nonreligious belief systems, or to the separation of church and state.

I think most people argue for what they want to believe, rather than for what best describes reality. And I think that is very detrimental to us getting along.
