If the far left hadn't flaked out in protest, the Dems wouldn't have to transfer power at all. It is the flaking out by the far left which really aligned with the strategic conditions of fascism, if that's what Trump represents.

As for whether Biden and Harris should peacefully transfer power now, I think the answer is "yes". Not for the sake of some symbolic moral righteousness, but because of game theory. Sometimes, you need to fight and punish, but other times, you need to go out of your way to establish a basis for cooperation, or you guarantee that the other side won't cooperate ever.
