I very much agree with the concept, although I'm not a pure pacifist, and think violence / the military is sometimes an important tool in order to defend against other, aggressive violence.

I would also mention pride as another false value. Stoking people's pride is, I think, one of the main ways that people in power manipulate their followers into loyalty and patriotism.

I agree that thinking for ourselves is our best weapon against false values.
