I thought the Green Knight movie was pretty good, but maybe I just had a different reading.
In the original poem, sir Gawain passes many tests to prove that he is a "good knight". But the movie subverts all that, and instead, he fails all his tests: He doesn't tip the bandit kid, he asks what the ghost lady will give him if he helps her, and he doesn't resist that guy's wife. And then, when he visits the Green Knight, he forsees the horrible future he will create if he goes home. So he finally takes off the magical protective belt thing and lets the Green Knight chop off his head - which is the only "good" thing he does in the whole movie.
