I think this is a great way to explain the thinking of most Anti-Israel activists.

The one thing I would mention is that Syria, and similar, mass killings by other countries are not as good an analogy as they are sometimes made out to be, in that the U.S. wasn't supporting Syria in its actions - weren't sending additional weapons to the Assad regime, as they have done with Israel.

Many activists will say that they don't want their tax dollars going towards more weapons for Israel. And that was not a talking point they would have had with Syria. The fact that American tax dollars are going towards Israel makes activists feel more justified in their complaints than I think they have been able to feel with other similar events.

I think most people argue for what they want to believe, rather than for what best describes reality. And I think that is very detrimental to us getting along.
