I think Kamala did a great job in what she didn't say about race and gender. But I think so many OTHER people (e.g. farther left liberals), talk ill of white people and men, that it was easy for conservatives to assume that Kamala represented those viewpoints. They even made the same assumptions about Biden, even though he was about as removed from the far left as you can get.
Individual candidates are haunted by the boogeyman of the more extreme members of their party.
Liberals need to start talking a more holistic message about race and gender, rather than so much demonizing. It's created a culture of fear among conservatives, which is what allows Trump to win.
