I consider myself an atheist - or at least I tend to be much more sympathetic to the atheist worldview than that of theists.

And to me, there is a fourth way to think of evil, which is this: evil is suffering. And the pain of suffering is itself the consequence of evil. How else would you measure any meaning or consequence of anything, other than by whether it feels good or bad - whether it increases happiness, or increases suffering?

I think the whole reason why people have the concept of evil is because of suffering. And I don't think you need to have any prediction or theories on how it will resolve, or how it fits into the larger order of the universe, other than that you feel it, and recognize that you prefer to feel happy, rather than to suffer.

I'd be curious what you think of my larger philosophy, if you have any interest to take a look: https://medium.com/@nebulasaurus/will-humans-ever-settle-on-one-religion-4e50c81b1d96?source=your_stories_page-------------------------------------

I think most people argue for what they want to believe, rather than for what best describes reality. And I think that is very detrimental to us getting along.
