I actually agree with almost all of this.

But instead of calling Arnold's post a 'cop out', what if you replaced your first sentence with something more like this?:

"I think there's more to the story than just social media."

I see people calling each other's honest takes "cop outs" all the time, and I think it makes us dislike each other more. We don't have to insult each other's intentions in order to share our perspectives.
